For Sarah--the sound of a haircut This was not my most difficult audio to pull together, but it was the most time consuming. I bribed a stylist with an Olive Garden gift card to let me record cutting her hair. I couldn't do "takes"; I could only record hours of hair cutting and hope for a good 15 minutes of audio. This final 15 minute cut was a miracle — the stylist's stomach growl, not no one barged in through the front door, no phones rang, none of the other stylists on duty used and the employee bathroom toilet flushed, the client did not speak, and I read in Cosmo magazine (you can hear the stylist laughing at me) — as I said, a miracle. I used a Zoom H2 Handy Recorder with a wind screen to reduce the sound from the HVAC vent overhead — so the volume is not as loud as I wouldhave liked. But the sound quality is quite good. She wore high heels so her steps are clearly audible (hopefully not distracting), but the clipping sounds came across nicely. I recorded the sound of shampooing but decided not to use it. I recommend using headphones or earbuds to get the most from this audio. I hope someone finds this relaxing.
